1990年アニメシンガーコンテストにてグランプリを受賞。
1993年3月TVアニメ『美少女戦士セーラームーンR』のED「乙女のポリシー」でデビュー。 以後も様々なアニメやゲームのED主題歌の歌唱､作詞を担当する。
2003年に発売された1stアルバム『sweets』がアメリカでリリースされ全米デビューを果たす。
2005年~2006年にはアメリカ西海岸、東海岸を13か所まわるアニメフュージョンツアー(AFT)を成功させる。
2008年にはベストアルバム「SingleCollection」が韓国でリリース。
これまでにアメリカ・スペイン・ブラジル・フランス・メキシコ・韓国・中国・タイ・コスタリカ・ポルトガル・ぺルー・チリなどでもコンサートを行い、世界の架け
橋となるアニソンシンガーとして活躍中。
また､地元新潟では専門学校の教師を歴任。
地元発信のイベント「がたふぇす」においても2012年よりアンバサダーを務めるなど、地元に密着した活動をしている。
2008年TVアニメ『ストライクウィッチーズ』のオープニング主題歌『STRIKE WITCHES ～わたしにできること～』が大ヒット以後、
今現在も進行している『ワールドウィッチーズ』シリーズの主題歌すべてを担当している。
2020年TVアニメ『ストライクウィッチーズ ROAD to BERLIN』OPテーマ「勇気の翼」を担当。
2021年に公開される『劇場版 セーラームーンEternal』前編のEDテーマ「私たちになりたくて」を歌唱。
また、TVアニメ『ワールドウィッチーズ 発進しますっ！』のOPテーマ「Wanna Fly?」を歌唱している。
”エンジェルボイス”と称された歌声で国内に留まらずワールドワイドに活動している。
Yoko Ishida won the grand prize in an anime singing contest in 1990.
She debuted with "Otome no Policy," the ending theme song of the TV anime Sailor Moon R. Since then, she has written lyrics of and performed the ending themes of many anime and game titles.
In 2003, she made her US debut when she released her first album sweets.
From 2005 to 2006, she went on a US tour called Anime Fusion Tour (ATF), successfully holding concerts in 13 different cities on both the East and West coasts.
In 2008, she released her best album, SingleCollection, in South Korea.
She has held concerts in the US, Spain, Brazil, France, Mexico, South Korea, China, Thailand, Costa Rica, Portugal, Peru, and Chile, and she works actively as a singer who bridges anisong and the world.
She also held a lecturer position at a technical college in her hometown, Niigata Prefecture.
She has also been active in the local community, serving as an Ambassador for the local event "Gatafes" since 2012.
Since the massive success of "STRIKE WITCHES ~Watashi ni Dekiru Koto~," the opening theme song to the TV anime Strike Witches in 2008,
she has performed every theme song for the ongoing Strike Witches series.
In 2020, she sang the opening theme song "Wings of Courage" for the TV anime Strike Witches ROAD to BERLIN.
In 2021, she sang the ending theme song "Watashitachi ni Naritakute" for the first half of the movie, Sailor Moon Eternal.
She also sang the opening theme song "Wanna Fly?" for the TV anime World Witches Take Off!
Her "angelic voice" continues to enthrall fans not only in Japan but all over the world as well.
